The Red Hen!

Bedtime Stories

Moral stories for kids

Sam: Hey Susan. Where were you? Everybody has left. I was waiting for you.

Susan: I am sorry Sam There was something I needed to take care of at school.

Same: What happened?

Susan: Few bad students at the school were trying to fool my friend Gemma. I found out that they’ve planned to trick her into doing all the work and take the credit for it.

Sam: Oh! That’s so bad. What will Gemma do now?

Susan: Oh, well. Thankfully Gemma is a smart girl. She’s like the little red hen.

Sam: What? Did you just call Gemma a hen?

Susan: Oh Sam! Haven’t you heard the story of the little red hen?

Sam: No! But it sounds so interesting! Tell me Susan tell me, please!

Susan: Okay! Once upon a time a little red hen lived on a farm with a lazy dog, a sleepy cat and a noisy yellow duck.

The Hen: Hey guys! Look! I found some seeds Let’s go and plant them! Who will help me?

The Dog: Not I.

The Cat: Not I.

The Duck: Not I.

So the little red hen went and planted the seeds by herself. When the seeds had turned into plant and gradually wheat crop was ready to be harvested, the hen asked her friends. The seeds have grown. Who will help me harvest the crop?

The Dog: Not I.

The Cat: Not I.

The Duck: Not I.

So the little red hen went and harvested the crop by herself. The wheat needed to be taken to the mill and ground into flour. The wheat is heavy. The hen went back to their friends and asked again for the help, “who will help me take it to the mill and grind it into flour?”

The Dog: Not I.

The Cat: Not I.

The Duck: Not I.

So the poor little hen helped herself again and somehow she dragged the heavy wheat to the flourmill by herself. She alone grinded it into flour, filled it into a sack and brought it back to the farm. Friends, I am very tired. Who will help me bake the bread?

The Dog: Not I.

The Cat: Not I.

The Duck: Not I.

The poor, exhausted hen baked the delicious bread alone all by herself and once she was done, she asked, yet again, “the bread smells so great. Who will help me eat it?”

The Dog: I will!

The Cat: I will!

The Duck: I will!

The Hen: No way! I will not share it with any of you and will enjoy all this tasty bread by myself!

Susan: So, the little red hen ate all the bread by herself and enjoyed it completely. What a clever hen! Wasn’t she! That’s how you should be. You shouldn’t be afraid of anyone and should always stand up for yourself. I am sure, Gemma knows this story and will do the right thing. Trust me, she will!

Moral of the story

You must not be afraid of anyone. Do well and learn to stand for yourself and to help yourself. Self-help makes you strong and doesn’t let you depend on others.

The End!

Bedtime Stories(The Snow Queen)

The Snow Queen! Short stories for kids Bedtime Stories Susan asked Did you have a decent birthday Sam?  Sam: Truly, without a doubt. Susan: What's more, take a gander at all the dazzling endowments you got! Sam(sadly): Indeed… Susan: Why? What's wrong? Sam: Nothing isn't right except for I just thought grandmom could have got me a superior blessing than the single rose blossom. Susan: Sam! That is not a pleasant comment! You didn't see her affection for you that made her fly right the nation over to be with you today. Sam: Love… But, that is not a blessing. Susan: Possibly you'll think contrastingly once you hear the tale of the Snow Queen. Once upon a period, in a little town lived two neighbors who were closest companions too Their names were Greta and Joe. They adored each other a great deal As an image of their companionship and love one day, the two of them planted a rose plant each in their front yards.  Each morning they would get together and water their pla...
