A Glass of Milk!

Bedtime Stories

Moral stories for kids

Sam and Susan went to the cinema hall to watch a movie. Suddenly a boy appeared and asked for help from Sam and Susan as he was unable to find his parents in the crowded cinema hall.

The Boy:  Hi, I have lost my phone and cannot reach my parents. Can you please help me make a call home?

Susan: Yes, sure. I can take you to the theatre manager. He will have a phone.

The Boy: Thank you.

Sam: Susan! What are you doing? We will miss the beginning of the film. We don’t even know this boy.

Susan: You never know how important a glass of milk might be, Sam.

Sam: What? What are you talking about Susan? What glass of milk?

Susan: You’ll know in a minute. Lemme tell you a story.

Once upon a time, there lived a young little poor fellow. He did temporary jobs to have the option to purchase his day by day food and go to class. One day, after class the boy was very hungry and he didn't have cash that day. The boy had no work arranged up till that night. He couldn't figure how would he make it through the day?

He thought to have some water to fill his stomach. So this kid decided to ask one of the nearby houses for a glass of water. He knocked on the very first door. A young lady opened the door.

The Boy: I am very thirsty. Can you please give me some water?

The Young Girl: Sure, wait for a moment.

The young lady looked at the boy’s condition and figured how hungry he was. In place of a glass of water, she brought him a glass of milk. The boy was surprised to see the milk and the young lady's kind behavior.

The Boy: I cannot accept this. I do not have any cash to pay you for it.

The Young Girl: It's absolutely fine. You don’t have to pay me against it.

The Boy: Thank you very much!

The little kid drank the glass of milk and felt better instantly. He said thanks to her and went his direction. Numerous years passed by. One day the young lady who was presently a lady fell extremely sick.

She was taken to the emergency clinic. The tests disclosed that she had an uncommon sort of ailment that would require extraordinary consideration for a long time. Dr. Smith was assigned to her case.

Dr. Smith: Don’t take any tension. We will look after you in the best possible way we can.

The Lady expressed gratitude toward the specialist for his kind words. Furthermore, as he had promised, Dr. Smith took incredible care of her. He visited her every day. Remained by her bedside in the evenings and ensured she was consistently comfortable.

Following a half year of escalated treatment in the clinic, the lady was finally well and could return home. But she had a concern. She called the medical attendant to her room.

The Lady: I am feeling much better and recovered now but I am concerned. It is time for me to pay the bill against my treatment in the hospital. But I am afraid I won’t have enough cash to pay the bills!

Nurse: Oh, you don’t need to be concerned about it. Your Bill has already been cleared.

The Lady(surprisingly):  What? By whom?

Nurse: Have a look by yourself and passed the hospital bill to her.

The lady was astonished. The bill was canceled across. And in big bold letters, it said ‘PAID IN FULL, YEARS AGO WITH A GLASS OF MILK.’ It was signed by Dr. Smith!

The lady couldn’t believe her luck! Dr. Smith was the young boy she had helped many many years ago. Today, he had become her savior and helper!

You never know how your one good act can transform into another great one, Sam! So never hesitate from helping others.

Sam: Thanks, Susan. I will always remember this now!
